Project 52 – Week 2 – Deep Freeze
The polar vortex made for some beautiful icy designs on our windows. I can’t say I enjoyed the freezing temps but it was kind of fun to discover new frost flowers every day.

I’m not big on resolutions but I thought the new year would be a perfect time to start a project 52. I don’t think there will be a theme, just one personal picture a week that I feel like sharing. It’s been really cold so I tried to make some frozen bubbles. These are the leftovers of a burst bubble.

Trying to take advantage of the last beautiful fall days – when the soft sunlight makes the leaves that are still left on the trees glow. It was a bit chilly but so beautiful.

This post is long overdue. The first month of school is so busy and it takes a while for everybody to get used to a different routine. The light is so beautiful this time of the year. I love fall.

Elephants at Bailiwick Ranch & Discovery Zoo
How lucky am I – I got to photograph the elephants at Bailiwick Ranch & Zoo. The zoo itself doesn’t have elephants (they do have a tiger and lots of other exotic and domestic animals, go check it out!) but a traveling show came to visit for a few days. So exciting! At first it’s a bit surreal to stand right next to such a big animal without any fences or barriers in between. This was a totally new experience for me, I’m not used to photographing events or such big animals. But I love a challenge and this was FUN!

Surprise shower for the owner of the zoo.
Everybody got to feed and pet the elephants. They really seemed to enjoy the snacks and attention. They are so gentle with their trunks.
Going for a ride. How cool is it to get so sit on an elephant. Unless you are only 3 years old then it might be a bit scary.
